Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Tickerscape website and interactive map (the “Service”), operated by Goldeneye Technologies LLC, a California limited liability company (“Tickerscape,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

Tickerscape displays an interactive map of public-company headquarters, along with related information. The Service is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.

Not investment advice

Tickerscape is not investment advice. Nothing on the Service is a recommendation, solicitation, or offer to buy or sell any security or to adopt any investment strategy, and nothing on it should be relied on as the basis for an investment decision. We are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, exchange, or financial institution, we are not registered with any securities regulator, and we owe you no fiduciary duty. You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions and should consult a qualified professional before acting.

The information on the Service may be inaccurate. The Service does not currently show share prices, quotes, or percent change of any kind, and nothing on it should be read as a market price. Company information and headquarters locations are provided on an “as is” basis, may contain errors or omissions, may be out of date or interrupted, and should not be used for trading or any time-sensitive decision. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any purpose of any data on the Service. If market data is added to the Service in future it will be subject to its provider's terms, and these Terms will be updated to say so.

Data sources

Headquarters locations are curated by Tickerscape from public company filings and may be approximate. Company reference information — legal name, listing venue, shares outstanding, industry classification, and state of incorporation — is drawn from the public filings database of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which does not endorse Tickerscape or its use of that information. The Methodology page describes each source, and what the Service does and does not currently carry, in more detail.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or these Terms;
  • scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the Service, or place an unreasonable load on it, except as expressly permitted (for example, our published API or as allowed by robots.txt);
  • interfere with, disrupt, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code except to the extent the law permits; or
  • use the Service to build a competing dataset or product in a manner that violates the data providers’ terms.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, and curated location dataset (but excluding third-party market data and other third-party content), is owned by Tickerscape or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Your submissions

If you send us feedback or other submissions, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them to operate and improve the Service. Do not submit anything confidential or anything you do not have the right to share. Our handling of any personal information in your submission is described in the Privacy Policy.

Third-party links

The Service may link to third-party websites (for example, a payment page if you choose to support the Service). We are not responsible for the content, products, or practices of linked sites, and your dealings with them are solely between you and the third party.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL DATA ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Tickerscape AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR TRADING LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE OR ANY DATA ON IT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tickerscape and its operator from any claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not otherwise resolved, except where applicable law grants you the right to bring a claim in your place of residence. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws of your home jurisdiction.

Severability and entire agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Tickerscape regarding the Service.
